Cycle time
By using a double gripper, two parts can be moved simultaneously, thus ensuring short cycle times.
We were able to implement a testing and sorting system for our customer in the medical technology sector. In this process, components are checked, classified and then sorted into separate storage containers.
In this system, pouch valves are checked for several criteria. Pouch valves are special valves that allow liquid to pass in one direction and ensure control of the liquid flow. At the same time, the backflow of liquid is prevented.
The components are placed in trays by the assembly personnel, after which the system is loaded with the prepared trays. The system has a capacity for up to 240 items, which are automatically removed from the trays and inspected.
A robot removes one valve at a time from the trays and places it in the corresponding station. In the first station, the components undergo a running-in process.
In the second station, a leak test and a pressure drop test are carried out using an ATEQ test device. The pressure drop test allows conclusions to be drawn about the correct production of the parts.
In the 3rd station, the actuation force is measured. The actuating force is the force that must be applied to switch between the different positions of the component. The valve can assume three different positions.
Once the test procedures have been completed, the control system classifies each part. Based on this classification, the components are sorted and placed in one of four containers.
