Functional test cabinet with active load

for precise inverter EOL tests

The project

At the request of a leading global manufacturer of drive and control technology, we were able to support the implementation of an inverter end-of-line (EOL) station. A functional test cabinet from AUTFORCE was supplied for this project. This contains the intelligence and control of the test sequences as well as the necessary measuring devices.

Once assembly is complete, the inverter undergoes a comprehensive functional test. This includes a detailed insulation measurement, loading the power section with an active load and testing the communication interfaces. AUTFORCE develops and manufactures customized functional test cabinets to precisely meet these requirements. We support our customers from project initiation to final implementation and react flexibly to specific requirements and changes.

Realization

In close cooperation with our customer, we developed a specially adapted test cabinet design that integrates perfectly into the existing production environment. Given the space restrictions in the production line, a compact yet highly functional cabinet was designed to ensure maximum efficiency.

The heart of the concept is the active load, which enables a realistic simulation of the inverter’s operating conditions. By using the active load, all relevant components of the inverter are tested under realistic conditions. This enables a comprehensive analysis of the performance of the entire system and uncovers potential weak points at an early stage, which increases long-term reliability.

This technology also enables the inverter to be reliably tested during endurance tests, e.g. on the third, non-production shift or at the weekend.
